Jeremy Shaw is a planner and urban designer specializing in master planning, street design and transportation planning. He has worked on projects in the Netherlands, Iraq, China and Ukraine, as well as in California, Minnesota and Texas.
Jeremy recently returned to San Francisco after working as a planner and urban designer at West 8 landscape architecture and urban design (Rotterdam, the Netherlands). In addition to project work, he has been photographing and documenting streetscapes, bicycle and transit projects in Europe, Israel and the United States.
Jeremy's work focuses on the intersection between urban design and transportation access, particularly in the design of streets as part of broader, public space networks. His work seeks to maximize pedestrian access, stormwater permeability and street activity.
He has also researched and written on arterial street design, parking policies and shared streets. In addition to West 8, he has worked for Calthorpe Associates, the HOK Planning Group and Nelson Nygaard Consulting Associates.
